Lately I’ve had an obsession with beans…chili, baked beans…you name it. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m too tight and beans are easier eat since they are “mushier”..but where you find beans, you’ll find me. My typical day has consisted of the following:

  • Breakfast: tall non-fat mocha from Starbucks
  • Lunch: about 2-3 oz of baked beans
  • Dinner: 1/4 of a chicken breast with barbecue sauce
  • Desert: 1/2 of a slimfast shake (frappucino style, of course)

And there you have it. Nothing fancy…nothing exciting. But it works.

Last night Erik & I met up with our friend Scott for a night on the town in good ol’ Seattle. This was after a LONG day of Phase I of our basement remodel which started by moving all of Erik’s stereo equipment out of the room, ripping out the old disgusting carpet and tearing up all of the old lenolium which had probably been there since the 1950’s. What a workout!

After about 5 hours we were finished which left us ready for Phase II which will begin today with the installation of laminate flooring from IKEA.

Back to last night. We met up with Scott at around 6:30 at Cal Anderson Park on Capitol Hill in Seattle where Scott brought dinner and Erik & I brought the silverware, etc. Scott brought a great chicken, bread and drinks. Of course, I only had the chicken.

From there we headed to see the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall but ended up getting there way early so we went to this ail house that had 160 beers on tap. We got some sushi, the boys got beer and I got a non-fat mocha. I only ate the “insides” of the sushi…no rice for me!

The movie was absolutely hilarious – I would HIGHLY recommend it. After the movie we dropped Scott off and headed home at which time I was exhausted!

Today, my father is coming over to get a haircut from Erik and to go to IKEA with us because he has a SUV v. my Protege so it will be big enough to haul the flooring back.

In other news, I am in LOVE with Worcestershire sauce – in particular, Lea & Perrins.

Erik’s folks are in town for the weekend from Spokane, WA! Yeahhh!!! So we’re going to dinner with them and his sister, brother in law and their 2 little ones.

We’re going to Maggianos which, I’ve been told has HUGE portions so I’ve already planned out what I’m going to have:

Whole Roast Chicken, Rosemary Garlic
A whole roast chicken marinated in fresh herbs, roasted and cut into pieces. Served in a light chicken sauce.

Now, I’m not going to eat a whole roast chicken myself so I’m going to share it with Erik and bring home whatever we don’t eat for lunches.

Just finished dinner. Steak, corn…that’s it. Had about 4 oz of steak and 2 oz of corn. But I’m STILL HUNGRY. Wahhhhhh. I want to be full. I am getting so ornery. I know I’m not supposed to drink liquid calories, but I’m going to have a Slim-Fast-accino because I am so not full or even close.

Tomorrow night I’m going to dinner with my husband, my fantastic boss Matt and his girlfriend Erica at How To Cook A Wolf. Pretty saucy name for a restaurant. The main meals are pasta which will force me to order an appetizer as my main course (good)!

I’m glad tomorrow is Monday. This weekend has been good – but long. Betcha don’t hear that too often!

And it’s crazy how this fill has impacted my eating. For lunch today I had a tuna salad. And all I could eat was about 4 bites of the tuna and a couple bites of the lettuce. For dinner I had tilapia and ate about 1/4 of a fillet and a couple of mushrooms. And the crazy thing is that I’m full! And I’m staying full. And that’s all I’ve had all day except for a few cups of coffee and a couple glasses of crystal light.

I’m not sure if this is real or if I’m dreaming but all I can tell you is that this is unbelievable. I don’t crave food. I mean…a bite of ice cream wouldn’t be bad…but I don’t crave a pint – I crave a bite. However, I will not have one. I’ll have half of a slimfast-a-ccino in a couple hours.

Ahhh – I should have done this years ago.
