Yesterday, March 15th the dear husband and I decided to take a day trip to Tacoma, WA (about 20 minutes South from Seattle). Our day started out with a quick trip to Denny’s where the husband got a big burger and I had about 5 bites of oatmeal. It was soooooo good! Then, we headed on with our trip and after a few mishaps with directions ended up at the Museum of Glass. Although a bit smaller than we expected, the exhibits were pretty amazing. What was most exciting was watching a team blow glass and create a really beautiful piece. (see my flickr site for more images)

After that, we got lost again, but finally made it to one of my favorite pieces of architecture, Stadium High School. Can you even imagine having gone to a high school that looked like this? It just so happens that the move “10 Thing I Hate About You” with Heath Ledger was filmed at this exact school! They don’t make buildings like this anymore, that’s for sure.

Next, we did some antique shopping where my husband purchased a Harley Davidson “patch”…not really an antique and went home. It was a great day…except for the crab cakes incident. šŸ™‚

Vintage Diet Ads

I love looking at vintage advertisements…and I found this one to be particularly silly.

“It’s easy to stick to your diet”…especially when you have a super snazzy sports jacket like this guy…and why in the world are they on a diet. They look stick thin???

Hummus Wednesday

On Wednesday I can start the mushie food phase. The first thing I’m going to eat (yes, I’ve already planned it out) is hummus…I like to shop at Trader Joe’s and they do have a great selection of Hummus. Here is the list of items I’m ready to buy for the mush stage:

  • HUMMUS (plain…without the bread)
  • cottage cheese
  • eggs (over easy)
  • oatmeal with cinnamon
  • yogurt
  • bananas
  • hmmmm…..what else?

Help me out all of you folks who have already been through the “if you can mush it with a fork, you can eat it” stage. Any ideas…good recipes?
